Obituary for David W. Lewis

David W. Lewis, 74, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died Friday Jan. 19, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital.

Born in Melrose on Oct. 16, 1943, he was a son of the late Albion and Dorothy (Davis) Lewis.

Prior to his retirement, David had worked as a custodian at Westford Academy. Before working for the Town of Westford, he had worked for 25 years for DeMoulas Supermarket in Chelmsford.

David enjoyed researching genealogy, and was a member of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists. He had also served on the board of the Chelmsford Historical Society. He was also a fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed playing bingo.

He is survived by his sister; Mary Warren of Chelmsford, his nieces and nephews, Rebecca A. Warren of Pepperell, Martha E. Cyr and her husband John of Biddeford, ME, Franklin M. Warren of Lowell, and David E. Warren and his wife Sally of Chelmsford; four grand nieces and nephews, Abigail S. and Emerson R. Warren and Adam J. and Jason R. Cyr. He is also survived by his step sister, Virginia R. Moller and her husband Edward of Westfield and his step brother, John E. Pike and his wife Jeanne of TX.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A private graveside service will be held at Lowell Cemetery at a later date.
