Obituary for David L. Dull

David L. Dull, 84 years old, formerly of PA, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2020 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA. He was born on March 28, 1936 in Crescent Township, Allegheny County, PA, and was a son of the late Harry and Mary (Mentzer) Dull.

Upon graduation from high school, David spent three years in Paris working in Army intelligence. His military time was followed by four years at Bucknell University in PA where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science. He worked at and retired from Northeastern University as a maintenance engineer. David spent his free time hiking around Boston, taking photographs, and traveling and had a great passion for classical music, art and history. He was also proud to be an ardent Democrat and loved the challenge of a vigorous political debate.

David is the last of his generation as his parents, sisters (and spouses) Hazel (Robert Neff), Virginia (Joseph Jodikinos) and Helen (Dale H. Burgess) and his brother Edward (Dorothy Dull) predeceased him.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews including Dale Burgess, David Burgess, Debra Burgess Yawor, Carol Cain, William Jodikinos, Mary Jo Morgan and Robert Dull. They and their families remember his quirky ways and fondly hold many memories of him sharing his love of books, art, nature and many travel adventures from coast to coast and Europe.

At his request, there will be no services. The family suggests that donations be made to The Trees Remember so that a tree can be planted in a national forest in his name at www.thetreesremember.com.
