Obituary for Darlene Marie Gladstone (Burdette)

Darlene (Burdette) Gladstone, 61, born August 24, 1960 and daughter to the late Earl and Yvonne (Udon De Beaulieu) Burdette, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Growing up in South Chelmsford, Darlene loved the time spent with her family, friends, and horses on the family farm. She especially cherished her memories with her beloved Dad, Earl the Pearl, who she missed dearly every day after his passing. Darlene was not only strikingly beautiful but also incredibly kindhearted, genuine and loyal. She was a talented gymnast and a bright student. Darlene graduated from Chelmsford High's class of '78 and later attended the University of Miami before returning home to help manage the family business, Diamond Jewelry, with her Mom who was her best friend.

Family meant everything to Darlene and she always wanted to be a Mom. In 1984, she had her first son, Jason, followed by two more boys, Curtis and Ross, whom she raised with the love of her life, George Georges, Jr. She was a devoted mother, helping with schoolwork, cooking delicious meals, attending all of her sons’ sports, and making sure her family knew how much she loved them every chance she had.

Darlene radiated love and positivity throughout her life and made friends everywhere she went. She was a joy to be around, always up for an adventure and enjoyed traveling with George and her Mom. When faced with her SCCHN cancer diagnosis, she fought it bravely and gracefully with the support of her many close friends and family, including her childhood best friends Shirley Gleason Faulkner and Jayne Corey, her sister Sherrie Sheridan, her children, and the loving devotion of her lifelong partner and caretaker, George, who is comforted in knowing that he will be reunited with her again one day.

Darlene is pre-deceased by her father Earl Burdette (1988) and mother Yvonne Burdette (2021). She is survived by her loving partner George Georges, Jr. of Groton, her son Jason Gladstone and his wife Amanda (Chiasson) Gladstone of Billerica, her step-son Steve Georges of Iowa, her son Curtis Gladstone and his partner Samantha Hajjar of Chelmsford, her son Ross Gladstone and his partner Kimberly Chao of Westbrook, CT, and her dog Dixie. She is also survived by her sister and her husband, Sherrie and Bill Sheridan of Chelmsford, her brother and his wife, Steven and Gina Burdette of Chelmsford, and her 11 nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 9, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.
