Cynthia E. “Cindy” Tompson Yancosek, 59, a resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at her home. She was the beloved wife of George Yancosek, Jr. with whom she shared 23 years of marriage.
She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on October 24, 1962, and was the daughter of Richard S. and Deborah A. (Allen) Tompson of Columbus, Georgia and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Cindy was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where she attended the University of Utah, obtaining a bachelor's degree. She then earned an MBA from UMass Boston. Cindy lived most of her adult life in New England, working in production planning in Portland, Maine and in and around Boston, Massachusetts.
Cindy was a fun-loving, enthusiastic woman with a particular love for the New England coast and sailing. She also enjoyed a lifelong love of both playing and listening to music, and was an enthusiastic fan of ice hockey.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, Cindy leaves her brother Chip Tompson and his wife Mary of Libertyville, Illinois, and their children Mei Li and Lu Li Tompson; and her brother Doug Tompson and his wife Karla of Columbus, Georgia, and their children Andrés, Renata, and Natalia Tompson.
Cindy was especially fond of her grandparents, Arthur E. Allen, Jr. (1911-2010) and Deborah Elton Allen (1909-2003) of Hanover, NH.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Visiting hours have been omitted and interment will be held privately.
