Obituary for Colleen Ann Cody

Colleen Ann Cody, age 53, died January 27, 2019, following over a 2 year battle with cancer. Throughout the battle, she was strongly supported by a huge network of friends and family for which we, her family, are grateful.

Colleen pursued her life-long interest in animals and their welfare. She earned a BS in Animal Bioscience from Penn State University. She spent 25 years working in clinical veterinary medicine, academic biomedical research and pharmaceutical biomedical research. She was a Certified Professional in IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) Administration, delivering nationally recognized IACUC seminars and serving as IACUC Chair.

Colleen was living her dream at Two Shadows Farm where she was transitioning to running a full-time business of teaching herding lessons, running barn hunts and clinics, and hosting people at the B & B. Colleen earned AKC Championships and titles in herding, agility, barn hunt and breed with her Belgian Tervurens- Temba, Hannah, Tala, Katori- and her Australian Shepherd, Kosa. Colleen helped numerous students achieve barn hunt and herding titles and championships.

Colleen is survived by her parents; John and Elizabeth Cody of Chelmsford, her siblings; Debbie, Bill, Patrice, Kathy, Kim, Kerry, and Heather, and their families.

All are invited to her visiting hours at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford, from 5-8 PM on Friday, February 1, 2019 to reminisce, grieve, support each other and just chat.

Her Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford, on Saturday, at 9 o'clock. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH.

Interment will be held privately.
