She was born on January 24, 1959 in Boston, MA and was the daughter of Rose (Buonomo) Earle of Somerville, MA and the late George Earle.

Cathy was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She then went on to earn her Associates Degree in Nursing from Northeastern University. After graduation, she spent several years in nursing at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. She had a talent for making clothes, crocheting, and interior design. Cathy loved the outdoors in the sun, especially the beach.
