Obituary for Brian Glenn "Gus" Sandy

The extended family of Brian G. Sandy (Gus) sadly acknowledge his passing at the age of 75, on 25 October 2022. After hospitalization, Brian succumbed to complications following a massive stroke. He resided in Harvard, Massachusetts but lived most of his life in Dracut.

Born in Lowell on May 12, 1947, Brian was pre-deceased by and the beloved son of Gladys and Frank (Skip) Sandy, and his sister Karen.

He graduated from Dracut High School with the class of 1965 and is remembered for his athletic ability playing baseball. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1969. He continued his studies at the University of Michigan in architectural design which led to his interest as a landscaping architect.

Memories of our cousin Brian were that he was a gifted artist, a well-known astrologer/spiritual person, actor and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed oil painting and participated in multiple art shows. Brian conducted online astrology informative sessions being a spiritual mentor to many. He acted with a theater group, cameos in well-known films and recently a commercial. He was a friend to many providing support and conversation. His kind, generous, and passionate personality embraced people in his daily encounters with them. He was a busy man devoted and dedicated to his diverse worlds.

Survivors include cousins Brenda Bloomgren, Martin Bloomgren, Richard Blomgren, Roger Blomgren, and Leo Sandy. He will be sorely missed by his family, many caring friends whom he kept in touch with for decades and those he interacted with through his Astrology, Art and Acting endeavors.

Brian was a third generation and active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Chelmsford, participating in the choir and bible study classes.

In Brian’s memory, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 15 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 170 Old Westford Road, Chelmsford. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian’s memory can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 170 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford, MA 01824.
