Obituary for Blanche Doris David (Proulx)

Blanche Doris (Proulx) David, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2018 at Sunny Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest P. David who died in 2001.

She was born in Lowell on January 10, 1929 and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Cinq-Mars) Proulx.

After graduating from high school, Blanche served in the United States Navy in the WAVES unit during the Korean War. Following her service, she was employed as a secretary by Wang Laboratories for many years. Blanche was a parishioner of St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford and volunteered her time there in various capacities over the years. She was also a member of the Chelmsford branch of the Red Hat Society.

Blanche is survived by her devoted children; Nancy M. Norton and her husband David of Lowell, Jeff P. David and his wife Kathy of Chelmsford, Gary C. David and his wife Lisa of Londonderry, NH, Laurie A. Hadley and her husband James of Chelmsford and Thomas J. David and his partner Brenda Shea of Salisbury, and grandchildren; Sarah and her husband Sean Thibodeau, Emily Norton, Adam and his wife Holly Norton, Katelyn and her husband Daniel Lloyd, Christopher and his wife Lisa David, Kelly and her husband Gerry Marshall, and Breanna Hadley, and her great-grandchildren; Henry, Simone, Lilly,Connor, Jack, and Silas. She also leaves a sister; Pauline Robidoux and her husband Richard of Arizona, and sisters-in-law Rita (David) Alley of Tyngsboro and Louise Proulx of Virginia, Brothers-in-law John and his wife Anne David of FL, Richard and his wife June Hannigan of CA, and Mary Schreurs of FL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Blanche was sadly predeceased by her son William David, grandson Matthew David and her siblings; Cecile Kelley, Andre Proulx, Victor Proulx and Paul Proulx.

Visiting hours will be held privately. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, November 9 at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford.

KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford.
