Obituary for Beverly (Kadish) Belcher
Beverly (Kadish) Belcher, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022, at D’Youville Center for Advanced Therapy in Lowell surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Belcher with whom she enjoyed 59 years of marriage.
She was born in Somerville on March 22, 1932 and was a daughter of the late Alexander and Edith (Tessier) Kadish.
Beverly was employed for many years in the school cafeteria system, first at Tewksbury Junior High and later at Pelham High School. She loved attending conventions and bringing new ideas back to the schools to implement. Beverly had many interests. She enjoyed following the Patriots, watching Dancing with the Stars, and the Family Feud with Steve Harvey. She also loved Pop Culture, “Mr. Worldwide” – the artist Pitbull being her favorite. Beverly loved Maine and cherished many vacations at the Meadowmere in Ogunquit. Beverly was an animal lover and had many cats, but her most special was Maggie D.
Beverly is survived by her children; Karen Smith and her husband, Kevin of Dracut, Bill Belcher and his good friend, Barbara Doud, and Stephen Belcher of Londonderry, NH and grandchildren; Lynn Murray and her husband, Shaun, Laurie Lavoie and her husband, Barry, Jarrad Lawton and Michael Kesslak and his fiancée, Kimberlyn Martin and great-grandchildren; Madeline, Aidan and Evelynn Lavoie. She also leaves her sister Eleanor, many nieces and nephews and her four-legged grandpets. Beverly was predeceased by her brother, Ronald. Beverly’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Dragan Petakov and his staff for helping her to transition with peace and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 10th from 4 to 7pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Sharing of memories will begin at 6:30pm. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St., Lowell, MA 01854.
