Obituary for Barbara L. Evans (Craig)

Barbara L. (Craig) Evans, age 91, a resident of Clinton, formerly of Westford, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022 with her dedicated daughter by her side.

She was born in Quincy on January 1, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Poluzzi) Craig.

Barbara was a beautiful, selfless, radiant woman with a smile that lit up a room who truly epitomized what a mother is. She was the mother of 3 children who she devoted her life to and loved with all of her heart. Barbara was formerly an executive assistant and director of human resources who was highly respected professionally and greatly admired by her colleagues who characterized her as one of a kind. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Welcome Wagon, a Mary Kay consultant, and volunteer at Emerson Hospital upon her retirement. Barbara had a passion for gardening and reading, was an avid exerciser, enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family, and making countless fun and ever lasting memories with her daughter, Susan, who she had an immeasurable bond with.

She was the beloved mother of her daughter Susan Evans, mother-in-law of Carrie Evans, and grandmother to Carrie’s children and grandchildren, sister of Audrey M. Shea of Hanson, Catherine E. “Kitty” Stone of So. Weymouth, Robert G. Craig and his wife Sally of Quincy.

Sadly, she was predeceased by her sons Robert Evans, Jr. and Charles Evans, her siblings; Frank F., William, Harold, and Joseph Craig, her brothers-in-law Robert Hanson and John Stone, and her sisters-in-law Gail Craig and Jeanne Craig.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 9:30 – 10:30 from at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westford.
