Obituary for Barbara Ann Beaudoin (Hamilton)

Barbara Ann (Hamilton) Beaudoin, 84, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Edward J. Beaudoin with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.

She was born in Watertown, MA on April 9, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Anna (Palazzone) Hamilton.

Barbara was raised in Watertown, and was a graduate of Watertown High School with the Class of 1953. She then went on to the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston where she trained to become an executive secretary. She worked in Haverhill for several years at Pope Machinery Corporation until she retired to raise her family. She and her husband lived in Groveland for several years before settling in Chelmsford in 1966. Barbara was a true wordsmith, having spent time proofreading for various publishers, editing books, and freelance writing. Her short stories appeared in books from the “A Cup of Comfort” series. She continued her love for learning by taking various classes in writing, computers, gardening and painting. Her crafting skills were well known, from sewing her daughter’s prom gowns to creating Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She was an avid genealogist and extensively researched her family’s history in her spare time. Most of all, Barbara enjoyed the time she spent with her beloved husband, Edward, and her family.

In addition to her loving husband, Barbara leaves her children Karen Keisling and her husband John of East Hampstead, NH, Mike Beaudoin and his wife Gail of New Boston, NH, Pamela Eriksen and her husband Joseph of Chelmsford, Susan Beale and her fiancé Mike Nagy of Key West, FL, and John Beaudoin of Chelmsford. She also leaves her grandchildren John Keisling, Jr. and his wife Kate, Rachel Keisling, Matthew Beaudoin and his wife Amanda, Lauren Beaudoin and her fiancé Zack Soares, Lauren Aponte and her husband Luis, Kyle Beaudoin, Taylor Eriksen, and Ruby Beaudoin, and her siblings Robert Hamilton of Chelmsford and Diane Gordon and her husband Douglas of Clermont, FL. Barbara is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Sadly, she is predeceased by her sister-in-law Anne Hamilton.
