Obituary for Antonina Sophie Mieszczanski

Antonina Sophie Mieszczanski, 93 of Chelmsford Massachusetts, a longtime resident of Salem Massachusetts, beloved wife of the late Joseph Mieszczanski with whom she shared 38 years of marriage, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday March 16, 2022.

She was born in Maciejowice Poland on June 1, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Franciszek and Leokadia (Filopowicz) Rola. She grew up in Poland during World War II and immigrated to the United States in 1966 and settled in Salem. She worked for Parker Brothers in Salem for many years until her retirement.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and supporting their endeavors. She was very proud of her Polish heritage. She was an active parishioner of St John the Baptist Parish in Salem for many years where she served on the bingo committee, was in the choir and worked on the parish picnic and volunteered for many other events. She loved to cook, garden, fish, spend time outdoors and loved animals. She was always very proud of her family and all of their accomplishments.

She is survived by her two sons and their wives Christopher and Jeanne Mieszczanski of Chelmsford, Richard and Dr. Hanna Mieszczanski of Rochester, NY, five grandchildren; Elena, John and James Mieszczanski of Chelmsford and Michael and Julia Mieszczanski of Rochester, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers (Franciszek, Stefan and Marian) and 3 sisters (Feliksa, Maria, and Janina).

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 26, at 10:00 am at St. John Paul II Shrine of Divine Mercy, 28 St. Peter St., Salem. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. John Paul II Shrine of Divine Mercy.
