Obituary for Anthony J. Powers
Anthony J. Powers, age 42, a longtime resident of Billerica, passed away at Lahey Hospital in Burlington on Thursday, March 3, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Winchester on March 10, 1979 and was the son of Judith (Drew) Powers and the late William V. Powers Jr.
Anthony was raised in Billerica and was a 1997 graduate of Billerica Memorial High School. He spent most of his professional career in IT as an employee of Red Hat in Westford, MA. Anthony was an avid golfer and could often be found on the course. He loved to visit Maine in the summer and enjoyed fishing off the jetty. But most importantly he loved spending time with his children.
Anthony is survived by his children; Ryan Powers, Derek Powers, Alyssa Powers, and Chayce Shepherd; his sister Jennifer Dowd, brother-in-law Dan Dowd and their children Erin and Allie; and his girlfriend Heather Bell. He is also survived by many loving friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 9:30am to 11:30am at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Funeral Service will follow at 12pm. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anthony’s memory to UTEC, a local organization that helps young people to trade violence and poverty for social and economic success.
