Obituary for Anthony P. "Tony" Cellini

Anthony P. “Tony” Cellini, age 91, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Blomberg) Cellini with whom he enjoyed 64 years of marriage.

He was born in Quincy on December 31, 1930 and was the son of the late Anthony and Edith (D'Angelis) Cellini.

Tony was a proud graduate of Hingham High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the Navy where he served during the Korean War, starting in the Reserves in 1947 and continuing to full service as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. He worked at RCA at the Watch Factory in Waltham where he met his lovely wife, Sandra. He later continued his career at Raytheon where he worked for over 20 years until his retirement. Tony thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and spent his time gardening, woodworking, and traveling with Sandra. He never missed weekly Mass and was a devoted communicant of St. Mary’s Parish.

In addition to his loving wife, Tony is survived by his children, Ellen E. Cellini of N. Chelmsford, Richard C. Cellini and his wife Linda of W. Chelmsford, and Nancy J. Cellini and her husband Glenn Kretkowski of Clinton, MA; his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Poppy”, Elissa Drift, Kelsey Lautenschlager, Lauren Lautenschlager, Richard C. Cellini, Jr., and John A. Cellini; his 7 great-grandchildren; his sister Carol Townsend of Naples, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Robert Cellini, Marguerite Blue, and Marcella Cellini.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 14th from 4pm to 7pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Kindly meet at Church. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, North Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s name to the MSPCA at www.mspca.org.
