Obituary for Alice Theresa Kennedy (Noonan)

Alice Theresa (Noonan) Kennedy, age 98, a resident of Chelmsford, formerly of Lynn, passed away at The Pines of Newmarket, NH, on Thursday, December 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin Kennedy with whom she enjoyed 56 years of marriage until his passing in 2012.

She was born in Lynn on August 5, 1924 and was the daughter of the late William J. and Theresa
(Egan) Noonan.

Alice graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1942 and then attended Burdett College in Boston. Prior to her retirement, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Naval Plant Representative Office (NAVPRO) at the General Electric Company in Lynn. Alice was a resident of Lynn most of her life before moving to Chelmsford in 1997. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish in Chelmsford and former parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Lynn. Alice enjoyed playing bingo, being with her grandchildren and watching the Red Sox, which she twice attended spring training in Florida.

Alice is survived by her sons, William J. Kennedy and his wife Irene of Wilmington and Martin F. Kennedy of Exeter, NH; her daughters, Karen A. Morrissey and her husband Scott of Newmarket, NH, and Eileen T. Young and her husband James of Sagamore Beach; her 8 grandchildren, Christopher Morrissey, Shannon Seiferth and her husband Jeremy, Michael Morrissey, Colleen Papageorgiou and her husband Vincent, Ryan Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy and her fiancé Andrew Raleigh, and Kristen and Allison Young; her 2 great-grandchildren; Matthew and Riley Seiferth; her sisters-in-law, Louise and Jean Noonan; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Sadly, in addition to her parents, Alice is predeceased by her siblings Martin Noonan, Agnes Sullivan, William Noonan, Jr., and John Noonan.

The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at the Pines of Newmarket, NH and Wentworth Hospice Care of Somersworth, NH for their exceptional care of Alice.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd from 4pm to 7pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. KINDLY GATHER AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
