Alberta J. (Bears) Sinclair, age 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 17, 2021 holding hands with her devoted husband. She was the beloved wife of George D. Sinclair. Alberta was the treasured daughter of the late Grace and Chester Bears. Mother of Grace, Jennifer, Denise and Steffanie. Grandmother of Hannah, Moriah, Adam, Avanya, Megan, Jacob and Julia. Great grandmother of Lyndon, Phoenix, Avian, Everly and baby boy due in July. Alberta loved her adopted children with the late Tom Cunningham and his wife Susan, their children David, John, Beth, Timothy and their families. Alberta loved and cherished her family, extended and her church family members. Alberta is survived by her brother-in-law Dennis Sinclair and his wife MaryAnn, their children Michelle, Sharon, LauraLee and their families along with their late son Bruce. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Debby Tatten, her children Kristina, Kelly, Scott, Kaitlyn and their families and her late husband Bill Tatten. Alberta is also survived by her three sons in law, Chris Donovan, Marc Steeves and Carlos Rodriquez.

Alberta was a devoted member and active servant to her Lord and Savior. If you had the opportunity to meet Alberta, you would soon hear of her passion and belief of wanting to bring as many of God’s children home to him with her. Over the years Alberta served in many roles within the Church where she devoted her heart to her Lord and Savior from Sunday School teacher, member of the Choir, leading the children’s Choir, and Church Administrator. One of Alberta’s most favorite stories she would tell is how she became to know the Lord through Reverend Richard Hall’s messages of Salvation.

Alberta was born in Somerville, MA on October 31, 1943, was raised in Lexington, MA and leaves her dearest cousin Grace E. (Bears) Dailey and her family, husband Carroll, children Paul, Susan and David along with their families. Alberta had several lifelong friends she will be looking forward to seeing again, Susan Cunningham affectionately referred to as “the other mother” of Alberta’s Children. Alberta’s childhood friends who were like her sisters, Anne Feeney, Bonnie Russell and Pattie Hawkins.

Alberta will be remembered for her generosity, love of family, and growing her family through the love of her Lord and Savior. She loved welcoming and giving to those who had nowhere to go giving them a place to call home.

Services will be private by invitation only due to Covid restrictions. A graveside service will be held privately at the convenience of her family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either of her favorite foundations: St. Jude’s, Shriners, Salvation Army or the Lowell House of Hope.

Alberta's church family at Community Congregational Church will greatly miss her! She was a devoted, faithful, faith-filled woman who served out of her love for Christ and her church family. She was a choir member and I will always hear her lovely voice in certain hymns. Alberta was an essential person in my early faith as well as a great listener who would give sound advice and honest feedback. It was my pleasure to serve in church leadership, participate in Bible studies, and women's ministry. I am honored to call her a friend and will always have a soft place in my heart and my memories of Alberta. She shared this verse many times in my presence:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Rest in peace and rise in Glory, Alberta!

Stew and I extend our deepest sympathies to all of her beloved family.

Peggy Kelly
